![]() ![]() The music is interesting but really not probably as central as I thought and I found myself a little frustrated when I realized just where all this was leading. The pacing is alright, I would say very middle of the road but there is a slight slump. This also tells me that Ross is very capable as a writer because I cared so much for these two and their story, that it was just really sad to realize that all the effort put into Jack and Adaira was just not for me. ![]() Torin and Sidara were by far the superior characters in terms of development, chemistry and plot. The chemistry between them is so flat that I even lost interest in Jack himself once the focus shifted to ‘them.’ I really liked Jack in our first chapters, it was all very mysterious and we were waiting to see just what was going to unfold on Cadence. The writing was very pretty, I can’t fault it for that. This is not me tearing this book down btw, this is me straight up just saying I got a lot to say. Sooo…I was very excited to have a Scottish inspired fantasy. I miss Scotland, all the time, my husband is still too new to being over here to miss it as much as me but soon I know he’ll miss home too. Jack Tamerlaine hasn’t stepped foot on Cadence in ten long years, content to study music at the mainland university. ![]()
